Dan Hirsch
When considering the city’s hippest music venues, those who are out of the loop might be surprised that the Museum of Fine Arts makes the list. That’s because while everyone’s always loved roaming the building’s halls in search of aesthetic inspiration, concert programmer Dan Hirsch has also earned the MFA some serious street cred among the indie-music set, bringing in such critically acclaimed up-and-comers as Cat Power, Joanna Newsom, Antony and the Johnsons, and the Fiery Furnaces. Hirsch also dabbles in the experimental, sound-curating shows for progressive group Non-Event, which he co-founded.
