Who we spotted. What they were wearing.
Boston’s fashion scene, no longer the wicked style-challenged stepsister to the Big Apple’s, is on the move. To celebrate our increasingly fashionable citizens, we’ve created a new series featuring the random (and not-so-random) individuals who make Boston stylish. So thanks for the inspiration, enjoy, and be on the look-out for members of our Street Style team.

Liana Peterson, founder of newbrahmin.com
Claims that: her style is “shitty chic” and her favorite place to shop is her boyfriend’s closet.
Spotted: at Stuff@night’s “One Night in Boston” party at the Seaport Hotel.
We loved: her understated and almost entirely vintage look, especially her red envelope clutch and gold horn necklace.
Laila G., international relations student
She visits Boston: to see her sister, who is studying here.
Spotted: on Newbury Street.
She stopped us in our tracks because: although her style is slightly over-the-top trendy, we loved her plaid flannel shirt, oversize handbag, and layered necklaces.
We suggest: trying one trend at a time to avoid overkill.
Jun Yup Lee, economics student
Lives: a stone’s throw away from one of his favorite shopping destinations, Marc Jacobs.
Spotted: on Newbury Street.
We made him turn off his iPod and talk to us because: we fell in love with his argyle sweater. Way to transition your linen shorts into fall by pairing them with a cashmere sweater — well done!
Katie Coolidge, student and Intermix sales associate
She can’t wait: to buy the “Coat of Arms” Stella McCartney sweater dress in her store right now — she’s a huge Stella fan.
Spotted: on Newbury Street.
We interrupted her lunch break to: admire her dress. Last season’s Stella McCartney never looked better: the rust and mustard colors work perfectly for fall.
We suggest: pairing it with tall brown boots and bright tights to revive this little number for another season.
