
Is it us, or are Boston guys looking hotter these days? Or maybe they're just better groomed, given the preponderance of swank, men-friendly salons popping up all over the city. We already told you about the boys-club feel of the 379 Club (379 Cambridge Street, Allston, 617.202.4330), but now two others have entered the market: the recently opened High Street Men's Grooming Centre (296 Newbury Street, Boston, 617.247.0077) and the Barbershop Lounge (245 Newbury Street, Boston), which plans to be in business by mid March. High Street boasts styling stations equipped with individually controlled flat-screen TVs and a high-tech sound system, while the Barbershop Lounge swaps out traditional barber chairs for sleek leather club chairs and features six 42-inch plasma TVs and a pool table. The Barbershop Lounge also offers shoe shines in addition to classic haircuts, facial grooming, and scalp massage, and High Street offers savvy services such as the Joe on the Go ($38), a speedy wash, cut, and style. Now if only we could convince him to take care of that unibrow...
