Don't expect to head home solo from the first annual Love Ball at the Beehive (541 Tremont Street, Boston, 617.423.0069). It's just not possible, thanks to help from a performance by jazz musician Ron Murphy, the trio of sumptuous courses included in the Fondue for Two ($80), and Love Potions such as the absinthe-infused Behind the Green Door cocktail ($10). Host Ryan Landry presides over the festivities, and an amour-inducing game gets those fires burning: each "prospective paramour" is assigned a number upon entering, and attendees are encouraged to send flirty, come-hither notes to anyone who catches their eye. A king and queen of the Love Ball will be crowned at midnight. The event runs from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on February 14; there's no cover.
