As if we needed another reason to swarm the Liberty Hotel (215 Charles Street, Boston, 617.224.4000): Veuve Clicquot has opened La Grande Dame Bar on the hotspot's second-floor rotunda. The first of its kind in the US - others exist in Macao, China and Hamburg, Germany - the bar serves strictly Veuve Clicquot Champagnes, many of which are only available elsewhere by the bottle. Done up in the black-and-yellow palette that's familiar to Veuve drinkers, the space also includes a très chic seating area bathed in mood lighting. The brand's Brut Yellow Label goes for an $19 a glass, with Brut Rose clocking in at $25 a glass; the list tops out with La Grande Dame 1998, available for a splurge-worthy $49 a glass or, if you have the cash, $330 a bottle. Ah, but these bubbles are worth it ...
