F.A.M.E. at Via Matta

It's unfortunately rare for a restaurant to have both a hip scene and a top-notch menu, but Via Matta (79 Park Plaza, Boston, 617.422.0008) has perfected the formula. And the hotspot has further strengthened its rep as a place to be with its F.A.M.E. events, held on the first Wednesday of every month in the restaurant's enoteca. Short for Fashion.Art.Music.Enoteca., the soirées attract an eclectic, creative crowd for socializing, networking, and cocktails. Music from DJ Justin Freeman and other local DJs sets the party vibe without overwhelming conversation, while trays of complimentary food and drink circulate from 7 to 9 p.m. (though the event continues into the wee hours). On February 6, jewelry from Persona will be on display, and the walls will be hung with coordinating art from Galleria Boston. Admission is free and open to the public.
