Raw talent

Swearing off cooked food is a scary prospect, but when Alissa Cohen took the raw-food plunge, the resulting health benefits made the sacrifices worthwhile. Then she parlayed her new lifestyle into a career, writing, speaking, and consulting on raw and living foods (she even has a Bravo TV show in the works). Now Cohen is making her cuisine available to locals. Grezzo (69 Prince Street, Boston), which means "raw" in Italian, is set to open in late January in the space formerly occupied by Sage. The blackboard menu will change daily according to what's ripe, fresh, and available; possibilities include a smoked "salmon" pâté appetizer, saffron-infused butternut squash soup, and wild-mushroom ravioli with asparagus cream. Grezzo, a warm space done up in pumpkin, copper, and cranberry velvet, will be open for dinner Thursdays through Sundays, with lunch served on Saturdays and brunch on Sundays. Seating is by reservation only; until the restaurant's phone line is active, e-mail alissa@alissacohen.net for details.
