No matter how much you adore your favorite bartender, don't you agree that he deserves a night off every once in a while (even if his usual replacement does mix a subpar martini)? Leave it to our local purveyor of posh, the Estate (One Boylston Place, Boston, 617.351.7000), to come up with a weekly party that allows service-industry folk to indulge when they're finally off the clock. The Industry Standard, which runs on Tuesdays from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., allows weary waitstaff, burnt-out barbacks, and haggard hostesses to enjoy a night out and a few stiff drinks - mixed by someone else for a change. Mashup DJs, often brought in from New York City, provide the background noise; it's DJ Spinbad on November 6 and DJ Boogie on November 13, and DJ Buddy Costa, a Saturday-night regular at the Estate, fills in as needed.
