Out on the Edge Festival of Queer Theater at the Calderwood Pavilion

THROUGH SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10
We've had enough of blah musicals and ho-hum comedies. Instead, we'll be lining up for the Theater Offensive's annual Out on the Edge Festival of Queer Theater, held at the Calderwood Pavilion (Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont Street, Boston, 617.426.5000). Chock full of cutting-edge works, the festival is celebrating its 16th year in Boston. Catch the New England premiere of off-Broadway hit Oedipus at Palm Springs, by the Five Lesbian Brothers, or All the Kings Men's gender-bending drag-king performance in Out of the Box: Twisted Tales. Get swept up by John Kelly's homage to folk songstress Joni Mitchell in Paved Paradise: The Songs of Joni Mitchell, or catch a staged reading of a work in progress with Plays at Work. For main-stage tickets ($20 to $48), visit www.bostontheatrescene.com or call 617.933.8600; a $10 donation is suggested for admission to Plays at Work. Visit www.thetheateroffensive.org for more information.
