SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22
From the folks who brought you Boston Bar Golf - a nine-hole course (read: nine-bar crawl) complete with pars, penalties, and score cards - comes the Water Hazard, a three-hour booze cruise that's sure to get your liver prepped for next year's Bar Golf Invitational. Warm up with the pre-party at McFadden's (148 State Street, Boston, 617.227.5100) from 5 to 7 p.m.; a shuttle will run from the bar to the boat from 5:30 to 8:30. The cruise shoves off on Bay State Cruises' Providence II at 9 p.m. from the World Trade Center's lower level. DJ Lowre will preside over the turntables, playing everything from pop to hip-hop, and new local cover band Road Soda is also scheduled to perform. The evening's theme is black-and-white, and guests are encouraged to outfit themselves accordingly; the event isn't formal, but there are sure to be loads of singles aboard, so dress to impress. Tickets ($25) can be purchased at www.bostonbargolf.com, where you'll also find more details and directions to the boat.
