TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18
It's time again for Dorchester's third annual fundraiser, Martinis on the Avenue: Dotini '007 Shaken or Stirred, hosted by Fields Corner Main Street and St. Mark's Area Main Street. Okay, so you can't literally drink on the avenue - thanks to our city's open-container law - but confining your revelry to the Blarney Stone (1505 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, 617.436.8223) is plenty good enough. Proceeds from the event, which takes place tonight from 7 to 10:30 p.m., help provide assistance to Dorchester Avenue businesses. Craig Galvin, this year's honorary "Mayor of Dorchester," will play MC; guests can expect music, hors d'oeuvres, and a live auction. But the stars of the night are sure to be the evening's "Dotinis," dubbed "Dorchester's unofficial drink of choice." Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door; for more information and for tickets, visit www.fieldscorner.org.
