SINCE OPENING Jean Therapy in Kenmore Square three years ago, Leah Eckelberger has quietly built the store's reputation as one of the city's best sources for premium denim. We're guessing that's because of her encyclopedic knowledge on the subject. Ask her about one of her lines (or any others, for that matter) and she'll whip out facts, stats, kind words, and anecdotal stories about the maker. This fall, she plans to opens her second shop inside the Trilogy building in the Fenway, where she'll show off contemporary sportswear from designers including Theory and Development. And because she's an advocate of working hard and playing harder, her nights are almost always spent out on the town.
@ 6:15 p.m.: I'll get out of the store and usually go right to my gym, Revolution Fitness, which is right under Club Café in the South End. The owner, Derek Christensen, comes to Jean Therapy a lot, so I like to support the businesses that support me.
@ 7:30 p.m.: Afterward, I'll end up at Toro. Ken Oringer and his wife Celine are both customers of mine. Or I might be at Picco. I love their pizza. It has just the right amount of blister on the crust and tang in the sauce.
@ 9:45 p.m.: If it's a Wednesday, my girlfriend hosts karaoke night at Club Café, so I'll go over there and hang out with her for a while.
@ midnight: We usually head back to my neighborhood, and since we can't walk by Eastern Standard without going in, [we] almost always end up there for a drink. It's one of the only bars that regularly has a Sazarac on their cocktail menu, so we'll order a few of those.
@ 2 a.m.: I love this bar, so we'll be there till the end of the night, enjoying another drink.
