We're suckers for soft, shiny hair, so when we heard about two new treatments being offered at I Soci Salon (8 Newbury Street, Boston, 617.867.9484), we jumped at the chance to try them. Damaged heads can use both the Noiraudepro and Nigelle DS services ($135, though it sometimes varies), but even the healthiest can benefit from just the latter ($65). Noiraudepro is made up of a series of sprays, each formulated for different needs, including elasticity, strength, and texture. Nigelle DS, a three-step process, combines a cream, serum, and conditioner with 10 minutes under the dryer, followed by a special conditioner used weekly at home for upkeep. Developed in Japan, the treatments condition hair from the inside out, leaving it with a smooth finish that's not heavy or weighed down - in fact, when we left the salon (and for days afterward), our product-free locks were lighter and softer than they've been in years.
