Sure, it's easy to write it off as a tourist trap. But we'd be missing out if we ignored the newly-opened Hard Rock Cafe (22-24 Clinton Street, Boston, 617.424.ROCK) and its potential to be one of the best live-music venues in the city. (Aaron Lewis of Staind was the first to take the stage on August 7 for the grand-opening event.) The space is impressive, too: with a capacity of almost 500, it's a major upgrade from its former Clarendon Street location; and the bar, backed with 909 Zildjian cymbals, makes quite an impression. For the rest of summer, plans are in place to partner with local radio stations for public and private concerts; eventually, they expect to have live music three to four times per week.
