Feeding Frenzy: La Spinetta Winery, Redang/Asian Market, KingstonStation, and the Wine Cellar
SPEAKING OF Rialto's Sunday-night suppers, this month they've got a special event featuring the cuisine of Piedmont. Expect truffles and exquisite wines from La Spinetta Winery, all for $125. >> Watch for New York import Haru to open soon in the back of the Prudential on Huntington Avenue. With its upscale concept, Haru hopes to add a little glitz to Boston sushi. Expect super-fresh fish and glam presentations such as edible gold leaf, among other touches. >> Two newcomers to report. Rendang/Asian Market has opened in Harvard Square in the old Rendang location. It's owned by the very talented team that operates OM. (When a new liquor license comes through, the place will simply be called Asian Market.) Another recent arrival is Kingston Station, in the old Peking Tom's space near Downtown Crossing. >> A sure sign that winter is coming: raclette - the gooey, pungent melting cheese that is one of Switzerland's contributions to the world - at the Wine Cellar. If you haven't been to this tucked-away Mass Ave gem, now's the time. >> The Boston Public Market Association (BPMA) has elected Donald W. Wiest as its new president. Wiest, who's been chairing the association's Site Selection Committee, succeeds Gregory Bialecki, who was appointed by Governor Deval Patrick to be the permitting ombudsman of his administration earlier this year. In the interim, Chris Kurth, owner of Siena Farms, had served as the head of BPMA.
