This is a pattern for me, but one guy was such a goofball that I wanted him instantly. He kept telling all these ridiculous stories and every time I expressed disbelief, he would feign utter exasperation and make faces at me and talk to passing strangers about me as if he were putting on a show. Most women would have run screaming, but I knew he was doing it to put me off my guard and test my social bravery.
