Office supplies: Stash these products in your desk drawer

We wish we could afford a quick touch-up trip to the salon before every cocktail party we attend, but alas, it’s not possible. Instead, we’ve been whipping out Ted Gibson’s Styling Hair Sheets ($25/10). The towelettes are formulated with silk amino acids, vitamins, wild-orchid extract, and natural lavender oil. Smoothed on dry hair, they’re great for refreshing your ’do: calming flyaways, conditioning dry ends, adding shine, and locking in moisture. Find them locally at Saks Fifth Avenue (Prudential Center, 800 Boylston Street, Boston, 617.262.8500).

If you tend to nod off somewhere between lunch and your late-afternoon meeting, we suggest keeping a can of Toning Floral Water ($35) from Care by Stella McCartney close at hand. A quick spritz to the face, and your skin (and afternoon) is sure to take on a new glow. The brand’s active ingredients are 100-percent organic and the product is chock-full of extracts of green tea and linden blossom, both of which have toning and soothing effects. Get it at Sephora.

Looking for a little caffeine fix, but already surpassed your daily coffee quota? Trick your lips with a few swipes of Bare Escentuals Buzz Latte Lip Balm ($8). The fresh-roasted fragrance will give you the jolt you’re looking for — sans the cream-and-sugar calories — while shea butter and green coffee extract will protect and smooth your pucker. Swing by Sephora for a tube the next time you’re out on a Starbucks run.

Speaking of coffee, follow up your stain-inducing morning cup with Listerine Whitening Quick Dissolving Strips ($28.99). With regular use (twice per day), you’ll be dazzling your coworkers with a noticeably whiter smile in only two weeks. And best part is, they’re totally office-appropriate: they’re barely noticeable on your teeth — so no worries if you’re called into an impromptu meeting — and they dissolve within five to 10 minutes, leaving no residue to remove. Bad-breath germs are no match for ’em, either. Pick them up at CVS (various locations).

One thing we always keep within reach, especially in our moisture-sapping office environment, is a great tube of hand cream. Lately, we’ve been slathering ourselves with Great Shakes ($9.99) by Soap & Glory, which just hit the shelves at Target (various locations). We’ve been following the British cosmetics brand, the brainchild of Bliss founder Marcia Kilgore, for a while now, and we’re thrilled to see it stateside. The lotion features fennel and lotus-flower extracts for softness — and a lovely fragrance — and it’s non-greasy, so you won’t leave a layer of slime all over your keyboard after you put it on.

When we’re talking desk-drawer necessities, size and functionality are key. That’s why we love tiny Stila Color Push-Ups ($20): they glide on in sheer, blunder-proof washes of color that can be smoothed over eyes, lips, and cheeks — no brushes, sponges, or other tools needed. They’re the perfect quickie pick-me-up before you dash out for a lunch date or after-work cocktails. Stock up at Sephora (Prudential Center, 800 Boylston Street, Boston, 617.262.4200).
