"Ennio!" at the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion

by Heather Bouzan, 05-05-2008

 TUESDAY, MAY 13 - SUNDAY, JUNE 1
Sure, most impersonators are impressive, but what about one who can transition from Celine Dion to Eminem to the Mona Lisa within seconds? Ennio Marchetto, in his first Boston performance in more than 14 years, tackles more than 50 celebrity and pop-culture personalities in his one-man show, Ennio!, which comes to the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion (Boston Center for the Arts, 527 Tremont Street, Boston, 617.426.5000). The hyper-animated Italian actor uses a complicated system of origami-folded paper props that help transform him into what's been referred to as a "one-man living cartoon." Marchetto has entertained audiences in more than 70 countries and has garnered honors including the Drama Desk Award and London's Laurence Oliver Award. For tickets ($15 to $50) and more information, visit www.huntingtontheatre.org or call 617.266.0800.
