Mike Doughty at the Somerville Theatre

by Heather Bouzan, 04-07-2008

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9
Mike Doughty
put together his latest album, Golden Delicious, with his "dude theory" in mind. The idea was, instead of saddling each track with hours of over-production, each song should recall a group of guys playing music they enjoy. The result is a relaxed, spontaneous sound that translates well to Doughty's live show. The former Soul Coughing frontman appears tonight, with band members John Kirby, Pete McNeal, and Andrew "Scrap" Livingston, at the Somerville Theatre (55 Davis Square, Somerville, 617.625.5700). Tickets ($21) are available at www.ticketmaster.com or 617.931.2000; the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
