Upperbar at Caprice, Entourage Saturdays at Venu, and Counterpoint at the Good Life

FRIDAY, MARCH 28 & APRIL 4
We may be living in an age of mash-up tracks and ’80s cover bands, but the house music scene is still kicking in Boston. Our proof? The recently launched Upperbar, held Friday nights from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. upstairs at Caprice (275 Tremont Street, Boston, 617.292.0080). Presented by Bon Ton Productions and Sergio Santos, the night features two rooms of underground house music spinning from the second doors open straight through to last call. One room features a mix of house genres from local and national DJs and, on March 28, DJ Deka. Behind door number two: resident Sergio Santos and more forward-thinking house tracks. The mood is chill: no crazy scene, long lines, or hectic dress code to stress over. And admission is a bargain at $5.

SATURDAY, MARCH 29 & APRIL 5
Just as we followed the cool kids to the best parties in high school, we find ourselves tailing the city’s top promoters to the hottest club nights in town. Our latest discovery is Entourage Saturdays at Venu (100 Warrenton Street, Boston, 617.338.8061), presented by 6one7 Productions, 235 Ent, and V-Fit/Afterdark. DJ Hectik and DJ Hevan command the main room, spinning Top 40, dance, mash-ups, house, and rock, while DJs Dres and Andy Panty hold down the Latin room. The night runs from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.; word is that chances of scoring admission without your name on the guest list are slim, so call 617.201.0697 or e-mail info@235ent.com. Cover is $15.

SUNDAY, MARCH 30 & APRIL 6
If only for the eye candy, check out Counterpoint every Sunday night at the Good Life (28 Kingston Street, Boston, 617.451.2622) from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Why? We hear that sometimes, for reasons completely unbeknownst to us, select attendees come dressed in bathrobes. ’Nuff said. The vibe is casual — there’s no cover charge or guest list to kill your buzz — and the crowd is eclectic. Music, from resident DJ B.Complex and a rotating cast of imports (Knox Harrington on March 30; April 6’s guest is still TBA), skews heavily toward drum and bass, and video artists entertain with onscreen graphics. @
