The Pogues at the Orpheum Theater

by Heather Bouzan, 03-10-2008

WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, MARCH 19 & 20
We heart you, Shane MacGowan. Your gravelly voice, your slurred Irish brogue, your lack of teeth - we can't get enough, and we can't help drinking ourselves silly on pints of Guinness every time we catch you in concert. (Post-show hangovers are consistently epic.) MacGowan and the Pogues play the Orpheum Theater (One Hamilton Place, Boston, 617.482.0810) tonight and tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. The band, which does Irish punk tracks that range from lovely to rough around the edges, is a smidge late for St. Patty's Day, but we suggest you arrive in full shamrock regalia, anyway. Tickets ($41 to $61) are available at www.ticketmaster.com or 617.931.2000.
