"The Scene" at the Lyric Stage Company

by Heather Bouzan, 02-25-2008

THROUGH SATURDAY, MARCH 15
The entertainment business isn't all starry eyes, air kisses, and complimentary bottles of Moët - at least, it isn't for Charlie, a middle-age, out-of-work actor who's one of the central characters in the New England premiere of The Scene, written by Theresa Rebeck. Charlie refuses to suck it up and "play the game," necessary for achieving success in the biz, instead choosing to indulge in a relationship that's simultaneously empowering and destructive for him. Onstage at the Lyric Stage Company (140 Clarendon Street, Boston, 617.585.5678), The Scene is directed by Scott Edmiston and features actors Jeremiah Kissel, Julie Jirousek, Barlow Adamson, and Georgia Lyman. For tickets ($25 to $54), visit www.lyricstage.com or call 617.585.5678.
