Nostalgic for elementary-school play dates and recesses spent chasing your crush around the monkey bars? The folks at the Cask 'n Flagon (62 Brookline Avenue, Boston, 617.536.4840) understand - which is why they offer a healthy dose of no-frills fun with their Saturday-night party, the Playground with Hustle Simmons. Since the event's launch this past month, Olivers Nightclub at the Cask has been packed with a low-key, no-pretenses crowd that always comes ready to dance. With a vibe that management calls "classy, yet unrefined," the night is all about good times, good drinks, and good music. JAM'N 94.5's DJ Hustle Simmons mans the tables, spinning a mix of hip-hop, reggae, Top 40, and old-school tracks, and the folks in charge are also toying with some theme-party ideas for 2008. The Playground runs from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., and there's no cover charge.
